همانند سایر اکسس پوینت های سیسکو سری 2600 را می توان در دو حالت استفاده کرد، یکی در حالتی که توسط یک کنترلر مرکزی تنظیم شوند که برای پروژه هایی که با هدف ایجاد چتر وای فای یا فراهم سازی وای فای عمومی است بسیار کارآمد است، و یا در حالت دیگر که اکسس پوینت ها به صورت Standalone و با اتصال به رابط تحت وب قابل تنظیم باشند .

اکسس پوینت AIR-CAP2602I-A-K9 مبتنی بر استانداردهای مدرن وایرلس تولید شده و از تکنولوژی های Cisco Clean Air ،Client Link 2.0 و فناوری Video Stream به منظور افزایش سرعت و پایداری در نقل و انتقال دیتا پشتیبانی می نماید. این سری در دو باند 2.4گیگاهرتز و 5گیگاهرتز عمل میکند که میتواند تا 450 Mbps سرعت را تامین کند، همچنین این دستگاه قابلیت انتشار سیگنال 3x4 MIMO و استاندارد 802.3af POE را دارا می باشد و همراه با براکت فلزی سقفی بفروش می رسد .
